There are many kinds of the rope lights, but nowadays LED rope lights have achieved great popularity. What kind of the device is it? Which characteristics does it have?

LED light rope differs from the conventional one by the use of light emitting diodes, as it is clear from the title. Thus LED ropes acquire some advantages. First of all, it is distinct in its low energy consumption (nearly 15 times) and increased brightness. Secondly, light ropes with diodes have great endurance – over 50000 hours against 20000 hours of the common lamps. Thirdly, LED rope light is resistant to mechanical loads and bends, and gets less hot.

LED rope lights are robust and withstand the temperature up to 60°C. In addition, it is completely hermetical, thus it can be used outside both in the rain and cold. The LED rope running time reaches 10 years. It shines brightly and intensively. LED rope light is a very light material, that means, the installation will pose no difficulties. LED ropes can be fastened to any surface, for example, by mounting clips.

LED ropes are mostly made of plastic, which can be shining or matte. Depending on the size of the rope and the form of the cut LED rope lights are divided into several types.

The main LED rope lighting kinds are the following:

1) LED rope light in the rope with the rectangular cuts; the dimensions – 13.5 ? 15.5 mm. Depending upon the luminous color of the diodes LED ropes can be orange, blue, yellow, green, white, red. The rope is transparent and riffled;

2) Mini LED light rope has the rectangular cut as well. Its main difference is smaller dimensions, which is very comfortable in some cases. They are – 10.5 ? 12.5 mm directly. There are blue LEDs, yellow LEDs, red LEDs, green and white LEDs. The light rope is transparent, riffled. Mini LED light rope is mostly used in the interior lighting for the accentuation of some elements;

3) Dura flex. Such strange word means LED light rope in form of the flat band, which is made of PVC. The dimensions – 5 ? 8 mm. The luminous colors can be red, white, green, blue, yellow. Dura flex is widely used in different Interior design;

4) Common LED light in the rope with the round cut. The rope diameter – 13 mm (rarely 15mm and 16mm). It can be red, yellow, green, blue, white, rgby. The rope is transparent. The round LED rope light is still the most popular but the rectangular LED rope light is quickly catching it up;

5) Flat RGB LED light ropes should be particularly mentioned. RGB LED rope light is a flat band with the dimensions 11 ? 22 mm and 108 LEDs per meter. It is made of transparent light emitting plastic. The main difference from other types consists in the following: three garlands of LEDs pressed in the rope, which have green, blue and red light emitting diodes. If such band is connected to a special controller, you can get different light effects: shining or blinking color, 2 colors shining or blinking, shining or blinking of three colors, the change of colors. Such LED light ropes consume 8 wt/m.
